One Strobe, One Bender

After teaching my Location Lighting Workshop last Saturday at Calumet in New York, I was invited by musician and photographer Hannah Thiem to attend an event where she was performing.  I hadn’t planned on photographing the event, so I didn’t bring much equipment with me.  I arrived at the most wonderful NY party: the “Secret Garden Spring Ball”.
The images below were lit with 1 Nikon SB-800 Speedlite, sitting on a music stand, as I didn’t bring a light stands.  The images with the harsh shadow were shot with one strobe through a Diffuser Dome.  The photographs with the soft shadow where shot with the strobe bounced off a Rogue Flash Bender.
