Testing the Pocket Wizard Plus III
The new Pocket Wizard Plus III just arrived at my studio. I JUST had to test this new radio transmitter every way I could think of.
The Plus III worked perfectly in the studio, firing both Speedlights and studio strobes. My next question was how far would the signal transmit from a remote location? Would it work outside the studio?
My assistant Keiko went to the front door of the studio, across the street and fired it . Eureka!!! both the strobe and camera fired inside the studio. I then proceeded out the back door of the studio, stood in the middle of the street and fired the strobe and camera inside the studio. This is approximately 450″ away through 3 brick walls. The final test of the afternoon was walking the length of the alley behind the studio, about 600′ and firing the the camera and strobe, which were still inside the studio.
The Results:
New soon to be released Pocket Wizard Plus III….. It just works every time, firing both the strobes and the camera.
